Greetings Lincoln Hospital School of Nursing Alumni (LHSNAA, Inc.) Members, this is my second opportunity to serve as your president. Although I was reluctant, initially, to accept the office, I can truthfully say that I am glad I did, so thank you!
We had a wonderful and productive reunion, in 2015, and the Alumni Association is working on the 2017 Reunion. More details to follow on our Website and in meeting minutes.
The Alumni Association participated in several exciting events in 2016.
First we were honored with the naming of a room for Lincoln Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association, Inc. in the North Carolina Central University new Nursing Building. This occurred on April 26, 2016.
Thank you to all Alumni Members who contributed funds, making this honor possible.
Second the Alumni Association co-sponsored, as usual, the 20th annual NCCU Department of Nursing Helen S. Miller Lectureship and Luncheon, held on April 7, 2016. This year, however, our own Evelyn Wicker, Ed., RN, the initiator of this Lectureship, was the Keynote Speaker for the event.
Getting back to the 2017 Reunion, and by the way, this will be the 50-year graduation anniversary for the class of 1967, my class.
You will be receiving information on cost of registration for the Reunion in the next few weeks. I urge everyone to plan to attend and begin sending in registration fees for 2017. The Reunion is scheduled for August 11-13, 2017 at the Doubletree by Hilton, Durham, North Carolina. A reminder, Alumni Membership Dues are due January of each year, in the amount of $50.
I invite your involvement in the Alumni Association and the Reunion activities. Your participation will help us to keep the legacy of Lincoln Hospital School of Nursing alive.
Let us make the 2017 LHSNAA, Inc. Reunion, the Best Reunion Ever!
Saundra Obie Clemmons, President
